The upcoming reunion of DC’s Worst of the Worst is set to go before cameras fairly soon, with some exciting names like Doctor Who‘s Peter Capaldi, Castle‘s Nathan Fillion and WWE star John Cena joining the Squad.
Fans have been hoping for even more casting news, with one directly asking James Gunn on Twitter this week to release some more names from his Suicide Squad.
When Gunn answered that he is “sorting it out” right now, another fan chimed in with the theory that the Suicide Squad sequel cast would be gathering for the first time on Wednesday for their table-read.
The filmmaker was quick to shoot that rumour down, replying: “Like so many rumors, this one was false. Table read was yesterday. I was, truly, blown away by the amount of talent in the room. Holy cow.”
Yes, that means the star-studded cast of The Suicide Squad – including Margot Robbie, Viola Davis and Idris Elba – managed to fully assemble in secret without any secrets leaking until director James Gunn wanted them to. Now, that’s impressive!
“It’s been an unbelievably rewarding experience so far, and a real dream come true for me,” he recently told a fan on Twitter.
