In a world where everyone’s constantly on their phone, watching that latest hit TV show or gaming until their fingers bleed, internet speed means everything.
You need fast, unlimited broadband to cope with the digital strain you and your housemates or family put on the internet, so why not upgrade to something a bit more robust?
When there are so many deals, discounts and offers available, it can be hard to pick out what’s best for you.
So, to help you make your decision, check out our round-up of some of the best broadband deals available at the moment from a range of retailers. Each company provides average speeds, but remember that the exact speed you’ll be able to get depends on a number of factors.
Plusnet broadband deals
Plusnet has a few deals going on right now for you to take advantage of.
Plusnet’s base broadband deal – called Unlimited Broadband – has 10Mbps download with unlimited internet, line rental and a fixed price of £19.99 a month on an 18-month contract.
Plusnet is slashing the activation cost, meaning it’s all free, and you can upgrade to add on call plans from £4 a month.
When you sign up you also receive a £40 Plusnet reward card to spend at participating shops and restaurants.
The next option, Unlimited Fibre, will give you 36Mbps average for £23.99 a month on an 18-month contract.
The last and biggest offer is the Unlimited Fibre Extra, which gets you a 66Mbps average download speed. It costs £27.99 on an 18-month contract.
Sky broadband deals
The company is offering a discount on its superfast fibre package for £27 a month for 18 months (then £45.99/month after that). This deal is perfect for gamers and binge-watchers, as you can get average download speeds of 59Mbps.
Full terms are available on the offer page in the ‘Sky Broadband‘ section.
There’s also a one-off setup cost of £20, but other than that, you’re good to go.
BT broadband deals
BT is also dropping prices this month, with its mid-range prices looking fairly reasonable right now.
BT’s current base deal, called Superfast Fibre Essential, offers you average download speeds of 36Mb. You get access to unlimited monthly usage, BT Virus Protection on 2 devices, parental controls and a smart hub, all for £29.99 per month.
This monthly cost includes line rental and lasts for 18 months, with the price going back up to £37.99 after that. You will also have to pay £29.99, which covers an activation fee and post and packaging to receive the hub.
You can also choose a tech gift from BT worth up to £249, including the Amazon Echo, a pair of headphones, a tablet and more.

At time of publishing, this deal also includes a £110 BT Reward Card that you can use to spend at merchants who display the MasterCard sign. Full T&Cs are on the website when you choose any of BT’s eligible deals.

Next up, we have the Superfast Fibre 2 offer, which will give you average download speeds of 67Mb.
This will set you back £39.99 a month for 18 months (down from £45.99) – with the cost going up to £47.99 per month after the initial contract ends – and includes a £70 BT Reward Card.
For the next seven days, you also get a free Amazon Echo worth £89.99 when you buy this package.
Shop Now – BT Superfast Fibre Plus
Last, but certainly not least, there’s the Superfast Fibre Plus option, which offers 67Mb average download speeds and also BT Plus benefits.
This means that you can get Double Data for your mobile phones, and its Keep Connected Promise, which will get you back online quickly if your broadband stops working.
This broadband deal will cost £54.99 a month for 18 months, before going up to £58.99 a month.
There is usually a £9.99 fee for activation, but there’s also a price freeze for 2019 where BT will not be increasing prices throughout the rest of the year and there is no activation fee.
TalkTalk broadband deals
The package will get you average download speeds of 38 Mbps, a fixed price throughout your contract length, a Wi-Fi router, the company’s 30-day Great Connection Guarantee (more info on what that means here), and unlimited internet.
The package has been reduced for a 24-month contract by over 30%, which means you would pay a monthly fee of £26 down from £33.50.
NOW TV broadband deal
If you didn’t already know, NOW TV does broadband as well as its telly passes.
One of the best deals you can get for its internet is paying £25 a month for an average 36Mbps download (this is billed as the Fab Fibre package).
The cheapest option, the Brilliant Broadband package, offers average download speeds of 11Mbps for a monthly fee of £18.
Or you can go for the Super Fibre package, which offers speeds of 63 Mbps for £30 a month.
There are two plan options – Saver (a 12-month minimum contract, but no setup fee) or ‘No Contract’ (no contract and you can cancel at any point, as you’d suspect, but there is a £60 setup fee).
And finally, here’s a run-down of the TV passes NOW TV currently offers…
The Entertainment pass has more than 300 boxsets and TV shows for a cost of £7.99 a month, including shows from Game of Thrones to Grey’s Anatomy.
The Sky Cinema pass, which has thousands of movies on demand, has a free 7-day trial period. It currently costs £11.99 per month.
