In a move that will surprise no-one, Spider-Man: Far From Home has swung into cinemas with a strong opening day.
In fact, the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie has broken the record for the best opening on a Tuesday when unadjusted for inflation. If you take that inflation into account, it’s actually the third highest Tuesday gross.
Forbes has crunched a lot of numbers and put Far From Home‘s Tuesday gross at $36 million unadjusted or $39.2 million including IMAX/3D and $48 million with adjustments.

It’s also predicted to perform better in its first five days than The Amazing Spider-Man reboot, but not quite as good as Spider-Man 2 (which was really, really good) and Spider-Man 3 (which was really, really not).
Spider-Man: Far From Home has also opened to positive critical reception (you can read our very own review here) and has already got us theorising about the movies to come with its post-credit sequences.
