You know that iconic moment in the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer?

It totally came together last minute.

Speaking at a Star Wars event recently, a visual effects artist who worked on the prequel revealed that the inclusion of the Death Star in the trailer — which came to be arguably the most iconic and noteworthy takeaway for fans — was actually a last minute addition.

“Just a few weeks before the first trailer of Rogue One came out, a decision was made that there needed to be this Death Star reveal within the trailer,” said visual effects artist, Rachel Rose (via The Hollywood Reporter).

“But this was something we weren’t expecting to actually do.”

The reveal makes sense as an iconic Death Star scene featured in the film too only came together at the latter stages of filming.

Originally, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story also had a totally different — and much happier — ending; as well as a wedding.

Seriously?

Is anything about the next Star Wars movie going to remain the same?

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be released on Thursday, December 19 in the UK and Friday, December 20 in the US.
