Rihanna has responded to rumours that she has been cast as Poison Ivy in The Batman.
The songstress sparked speculation she would take on the role in Matt Reeves’ forthcoming film, which stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, following a ‘bat-mobile’-inspired Instagram post last week.
“Bat-mobile but make it fashion,” she wrote.
However, speaking recently, Rihanna confirmed that the post has “nothing to do with” a potential Poison Ivy role – even though she does have a Poison Ivy “obsession”.
So don’t get your hopes up just yet, RiRi stans.
“No, that has nothing to do with Poison Ivy,” she told Entertainment Tonight.
“That [post] has a lot to do with Batman [because] I have separate obsessions. I have a bigger obsession with Poison Ivy. I’m just being honest.
“And yeah, I dyed my hair red because of Uma Thurman in the original.”

Rihanna’s clarification follows Christian Bale giving his verdict on Robert Pattinson’s Batman casting, as well as offering a hilarious bit of advice.
In other news, there was some speculation recently that Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker and R-Pattz’ Batman will appear together as part of the same new DC cinematic universe.
However, Joker director Todd Phillips has done a Rihanna and denied this too.
The Batman will be released on June 25, 2021.
