The Nintendo Switch is good and all, but we do sometimes wish the portable console was a bit more retro.

The games company has been listening to our wishes recently, releasing several old SNES games to the console including Super Metroid, Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts and Star Fox.

But now, there’s a super-cool, retro SNES controller on sale, too. To get it, you need to sign up for a Nintendo Switch Online membership, which basically gives you a bunch of cool extra features for a monthly price.

As the name suggests, a Switch Online account lets you play online with friends – perfect for playing Mario Kart or Splatoon 2 on the go.

You can also save data to the Nintendo Cloud, and take advantage of a bunch of cool, exclusive offers to save money on games and accessories.

You can sign up to Nintendo Switch Online for £3.49 a month, £6.99 a month or £17.99 for a whole year (saving you 57%).

Those are the prices for just a single account, so you can, of course sign up multiple accounts. For example, a family membership, grants access for up to eight accounts for 12 months, priced at £31.49 for the year.

Once you’ve done that, you can then purchase the Super Nintendo Entertainment System controller for your Switch, if you fancy pretending you’re back in the ’90s playing your favourite games on the new console.

The controller itself is full-sized and wireless, making it perfect for playing all those classic games.

It costs £26.99 from the official Nintendo UK store, and you can pick it up once you’ve got your membership.
