Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD is ending next season, but what’s the future like for the characters beyond the show’s end?
Ming-Na Wen, who plays Agent Melinda May, believes it’s entirely possible that fans will see more of her character in “some sort of incarnation” in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Speaking at FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention (via ComicBook.com), she commented: “We have such an incredible family over there, and when we did our last scene – which I can’t talk about of course – there was a definite sense of finality about it.
“And yet, we always feel like with Marvel characters, we never really go away.
“So I’m sure somewhere down the line, there will be some sort of incarnation where I have to bring Agent May back.”
Agents of SHIELD season 6 ended with a wild finale which saw the characters time-travel to the past.

The seventh season will have “one tiny little MCU nod”, according to co-showrunner Jed Whedon, and a familiar character will be returning for the final run of episodes.
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD airs on ABC in the US and E4 in the UK, and will return for season 7 in 2020.
