Justice League director Zack Snyder appears to have finally confirmed the existence of his infamous Snyder Cut in his own words.

Taking to his Vero account, the director shared an image featuring a bunch of film containers all with labels which read Z.S., JL and Director’s Cut.

He captioned the photo: “IS IT REAL? DOES IT EXIST? OF COURSE IT DOES.”

Ever since the disappointment of Justice League (which was released just over two years ago), fans have been calling for the release of Synders’ original cut, campaigning online under the hashtag #ReleaseTheSnyderCut.

Snyder stepped away from Justice League during post-production, following his daughter’s death, leaving Joss Whedon to take over and oversee re-shoots.

Whedon’s contribution was said to have added more humour and a lighter tone to the film, something which left some fans unsatisfied with the finished product.

Synder’s admission comes after Superman star Henry Cavill revealed he hasn’t seen the Snyder cut of Justice League.

“I have not seen a Snyder Cut,” he said. “I don’t know if there’s anything that exists that is a Snyder Cut. I’m sure there’s footage out there that’s probably been pieced together over the years.

“I’m always interested to see how that stuff turns out, but that is very much a chapter in my past. I would rather talk about what’s going to happen in the future, the future of Superman.”

Meanwhile Jason Momoa (aka Aquaman) has previously called for the Snyder Cut’s release.

Justice League is out now on DVD or Blu-ray.
