Universal has confirmed that the first trailer for Last Christmas, inspired by the Wham festive classic hit, will be unveiled very soon.

The trailer will debut on tonight’s (August 13) The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, with it expected to arrive online at the same time, so that will be in the early hours of Wednesday (August 14) in the UK (HT TrailerTrack).

To mark the trailer’s imminent release, we also have the first poster for the Christmas rom-com, starring Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke and Crazy Rich Asians‘ Henry Golding.

Directed by Paul Feig and written by Emma Thompson and Bryony Kimmings, the rom-com will feature music from George Michael, including the title track and previously-unreleased material.

Last Christmas follows Kate (Clarke) who works as an elf in a year-round Christmas shop and “harrumphs around London, a bundle of bad decisions accompanied by the jangle of bells on her shoes”, according to the official synopsis.

Enter Tom (Golding) who starts to break through her barriers around the most wonderful time of the year.

“Nothing should work for these two,” the synopsis continues. “But sometimes, you gotta let the snow fall where it may, you gotta listen to your heart… and you gotta have faith.”

Back in January, Golding shared a first look at Kate and Tom in the movie, which will be released on November 8 in the US and November 15 in the UK.
