Doctor Who: The Edge of Time will expand the landscape of the original TV show with a brand new monster.
The new interactive game will allow fans to be transported to the worlds of the BBC science-fiction series – full of mystery, aliens and wonder. And now, the VR adventure has added a new monster to its universe – the Hydrorks.
The Hydrorks are described as vicious amphibians who are occasionally used as guards by races like the Stenza and Zygons.
Furthermore, these deadly carnivores are said to be incredibly eerie and greasy and have no table manners. They have a real taste for the human flesh, with their hunger never being fulfilled.
The new game – developed by studio Maze Theory – will include voice acting from Jodie Whittaker herself, and players will have the opportunity to fight other classic villains such as Daleks and Weeping Angels.
“She’s [Jodie] been captured by this mysterious force and is being held at the edge of time – hence the name!” Ian Hambleton, Maze Theory CEO, has previously explained to Digital Spy.
“All along, the Doctor’s there to help you,” Hambleton added. “She communicates with you through different electronic devices… and she also appears as a hologram in certain sections.”
