Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch is a man known for his transformative roles, but in new photos from the set of biopic Louis Wain, he’s basically unrecognisable.

The Oscar nominee has previously played Brexit campaigner Dominic Cummings, Wikileaks whistleblower Julian Assange and even Frankenstein’s monster on stage – all of which saw him undergo striking physical transformations.

Shooting kicked off in London this August, and although there’s currently no official release date, we’d assume it’ll arrive late next year in time for awards season.

Benedict will be joined by the likes of fellow MCU star Toby Jones, The Crown‘s Claire Foy, Julian Barratt and Asim Chaudry in the film.

Benedict Cumberbatch returns to the MCU in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which is currently slated for a May 2021 release, while Avengers: Endgame is out now on DVD, Blu-ray, 3D, 4K and digital download.
