Even though they’ll be seeing him again in the upcoming Black Widow prequel, it seems some Marvel fans still aren’t willing to accept that Tony Stark aka Iron Man is no longer alive in the MCU.

Since his death in Avengers: Endgame, many have been trying to think up ways in which the billionaire tech genius could make a miraculous comeback – and now there’s a new, particularly optimistic theory that claims to have the answer.

In a lengthy Reddit post shared by the user ankitkvishwakarma, it’s suggested that the hologram we see of Tony Stark inEndgame (you know, when he says “I love you 3000” to Morgan) isn’t a hologram at all.

Instead, they propose that what we’re seeing here is actually an artificial intelligence, left by Tony himself in the event of his death.

The user cites the 2015 comic book Ironheart – in which an AI is introduced after Tony goes into a coma – as the inspiration for their theory.

They go on to claim that their theory is ‘proved’ by the fact that Tony’s hologram turns and talks directly to Morgan, suggesting it knew where she was sitting at the time of the message.

While it might seem like a nice idea, it’s safe to say it ain’t going to happen, especially given that Tony’s hologram literally walks up to the camera to turn off the recording.

Unless of course he’s come up with a whole new level of devious AI.

Avengers: Endgame is out now on DVD, Blu-ray, 3D, 4K and digital download.
