Just days after dropping some pretty exciting Agents of SHIELD hints ahead of the show’s final season, Chloe Bennet has warned fans that not everyone will be happy with how the Marvel TV series comes to a close.

Although the Daisy Johnson/Quake actress previously promised a “really, really fun” final season, the actress did acknowledge that when fans care so deeply for a show and its characters, some kind of disappointment is inevitable.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Chloe explained: “With the end of every series, I mean you look at Game of Thrones – if you have a fanbase that cares about the characters, they’re going to have a possessiveness over how you want it to end, obviously. I do that all the time with shows.”

Still optimistic about the Marvel show’s upcoming conclusion, she added: “I don’t think we’re going to make everyone happy, but they definitely do a really good job.”

Chloe also admitted that she found coming to terms with the series’ end “weird”. “I’m not sure if it’s really hit me yet to be honest,” she added.

“I met up with Elizabeth Henstridge [who plays Jemma Simmons] for dinner a few nights ago and we were like, ‘It’s been six months right?’ and we were like, ‘Nope, it’s been two months’. It’s a little weird. I don’t think it will hit me that the show’s over for a while.”

Chloe’s comments come shortly after she hinted at some big-name returns for the show’s final season, teasing a surprise appearance or two when SHIELD go “back in time”.

“The whole goal is to get back to where we were,” she explained. “So that means travelling through a bunch of different time periods and who knows who we see on the way back, if we even get back.

“It’s actually one of the most… season 4 and season 7 are definitely my favourite seasons of SHIELD.”

Chloe Bennet voices Yi in Abominable, which is out now in US cinemas and is released in UK cinemas today (October 11).
